There were many medical studies performed at The University of Colorado, Denver, and San Diego State University that closely correlate the use of medical marijuana to be one of the leading causes to depression, psychological, emotional issues and more importantly, suicidal ideation (Anderson, Rees, & Sabia, 2015). But along with these studies proving that marijuana leads to depression, and suicidal ideation, there are also clinically proven benefits of medical marijuana on users. Laura Borgelt, a professor at The University of Colorado Department of Clinical Pharmacy, Kari Franson professor at The University of Colorado Department of Clinical Pharmacy, Abraham Nussbaum registered doctor and professor at The University of Colorado, & George Wang registered doctor specializing in Pharmaceutical drugs and poisons, join together and examined the benefits of medical marijuana and medical cannabis on many users. These four authors examined and conducted experiments which proved how medical marijuana and medical cannabis do in fact have plausible benefits toward forms of pain, muscle spasms, and even cancer induced symptoms.
