A Comparison and Distinction of the United States and Nevada Constitutions
As the foundations and frameworks for a government, constitutions play crucial roles in shaping the way a state and nation are run. While the Constitution of the United States outlines the way the federal government is run and act as the supreme law, each state has its own constitution to lay out the way its own government will run. It is important for the people to know the specific workings of their own state’s government in comparison to that of the nation as a whole, so comparing our home, Nevada’s, constitution to that of the United States is a way to more fully understand the way power is split up …show more content…

In the US Constitution the Executive branch is laid out in the second Article; here, the qualifications for the President and his primary title and powers are explained, as well as his election process. The Nevada Constitution is lengthier in its fifth Article where the Executive branch is delved into with more detail in regards to certain powers the governor has, sessions of Legislator they may intervene in and of what occasion, as well as going into different positions held in this branch like the Secretary of State and the Attorney General.
The third branch of government for both Nevada and United States is the Judicial branch.
This branch is explained in the sixth article and the third article respectively. While this power is given to three courts of the court system for Nevada, it is vested solely in the Supreme Court
