1). Proxemics has a lot to do with space between people while interacting. According to Rutsohn There are four spacial zones “intimate, informal, formal, and public” (1993). The intimate zone is considered anything less than three feet but varies depending on what source is used. This zone refers to the zone in which people are intimate, meaning close friends and family, and is used for intimate contact like hugging for example. The informal zone ranges from three to seven feet and is also used between friends and family to interact. The formal zone ranges from seven to twelve feet and is used between business associates and in work settings. According to Hayes (2002) many factors impact a person’s posture, “They include context, culture and attitudes towards others.” A person who has an open posture is more easily able to keep a positive image (Rutsohn, 1993). For example, if a manager and employee were conversing and their arms and legs were crossed, from an outside point of view, a person may think these two people do not really care for each other. They are building a wall in between the two of them and walls can be difficult to break down. Keeping an open posture when communicating with others is vital in order to retain a respectable working relationship. As per Mokhtari (2013) 55% of communication is based on body language. So what this is saying is body language says more than the words we
