American Psychological Association 's Ethical Principles of Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct (APA) has been established to “avoid undue harm to students, clients, and any other individual or group” (http://efpa.be/ethics.htm.) There are 5 principles; Fidelity and Responsibility, Integrity, Justice, Respect for People’s rights and Dignity. All 5 principles are important to me. I feel that Integrity is the most important to me. To be transparent and give accurate information will demonstrate that you are being responsible, give justice and display respect and dignity for people. As a health care worker I am considered as a professional. Someone who is non-judgmental, trustworthy and will offer scholarly advice. I must follow this code of ethics so I do not deceive and or lose the trust of my patient. The code of ethics was created to protect the public and the psychologist from any abuses that are the result of mishandling a situation. For example, if I have a patient who has significant signs of abuse by a significant other. I must protect my patient and possibly other individuals who might be in harm’s way, by calling the authorities to
