Anxiety causes you to feel tense, nervous, irritable, sad, or unhappy. Causes of anxiety are plentiful and diverse. Things that can cause anxiety can be, but are not limited to school, deadlines, social events, fear of failing, stress from a personal relationship or marriage, the loss of a loved one, or financial stress. Anxiety can be expressed in many different ways from person to person. There are also different types of anxiety. Panic attacks come on suddenly, are usually unprovoked by an external event. They normally peak 10 minutes after it began and slows down after this. Next is Agoraphobia which is the fear of a situation or place. Also Social Anxiety which is the fear or self-consciousness about meeting or being around new people. Lastly, Obsessive-compulsive Disorder or OCD which is having unwanted thoughts, obsessions and compulsions that create anxiety if they are not acted upon. Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) develops after a significant trauma has occurred such as a car accident, or natural disaster like a hurricane, earthquake, or flood. Symptoms may include nightmares and/or flashbacks of the event, detachment from loved ones, increased aggression or hostility , insomnia, or headaches. Anxiety disorders cannot be identified by laboratory tests, therefore it can be harder to identify and treat. The first step to helping relieve your anxiety is to find the root cause of the anxiety. In most cases that cause is some sort of stress. The next step you want to take is finding ways to lower or eliminate this stress. You may be able to do
