Twenty-minutes of daily recess cannot serve as the children’s’ daily physical activity and certainly cannot replace the physical education classes, as one can see at 74% of schools researched from 2009-2012 (Turner, Johnson, Slater, & Chaloupka, 2014). The impact physical education is having on children across the country in elementary schools is very poor and it stems back to the professional capacity and how we prep our teachers for the physical education profession.
