Educational research today is mainly conducted at the University level and many of the valuable studies and research occasionally makes it to the classroom in which the teacher might be able to utilize with their students (Diana, 2011). This occurs for the reasons that educational researchers overlook the realities of the current classroom, fail to create research results into practical solutions for the classroom teacher and students, and the research is conducted without the consultation of current K-12 educators (Diana, 2011). After reading, analyzing, and annotating over 20 research articles and several books, the topic of physical education for students with physical disability began to take form as the need was evident that change and reform is needed in the physical education curriculum within the public education system. Furthermore, this phase of the research proposal was the most enjoyable portion as this was the discovery portion in which a solution was being formulated. Hence, creating a research project to include students with and without physical disabilities for the benefit of all stakeholders began to come to fruition. Furthermore, activities 1 through 4 were beneficial in preparing the foundation for the research proposal as each weeks paper began to bring all the vital information and components together which helped in the beginning stages of organizing the study. Moreover, utilizing the Northcentral Library Roadrunner Search tool proved to be valuable as it produced research material that was relevant to the field of physical education, which enabled me to focus on information that was credible in developing the research …show more content…
Research is a methodical process that requires patients and analytical thinking in order to formulate a proposal that brings results that are useful to the area of study that is being conducted (Bergman, 2008). Moreover, research in education can be the basis of statistical data that brings change and reform to produce results that are equitable to all stakeholders, teachers and students, specifically in the area of physical education.
