The prenatal stage is the first one from time of conception to birth. During the prenatal stage we see how humans grow from a small cell into a full grown fetus, which comes to term in 40 weeks. Infancy, which includes the toddler face; it takes place from birth to three years of age. Most of motor skills developed during this stage along with the senses, self-awareness and personality. This is a stage of rapid physical growth. Pre-school period also known as Early Childhood goes from age three to six. In this stage nutrition plays a very important role as many children tend to become obese due to their bodies’ rapid grow spurs. Illnesses and injuries are predominant as they interact more with other kids their own age. Language becomes clearer as they are learning new words. Middle Childhood is the period between ages six and twelve. The child’s IQ develops, self-image becomes very important. Also, peer pressure intensifies especially in the school settings. Many kids start puberty in this stage also known as precocious puberty. Physical characteristics are become visible. Adolescence is the next stage between twelve and twenty. Physical and sexual maturation take places in this stage. Eating disorders and mental illnesses may develop in this stage. Some teens may become selfish and very into themselves. I identify with this stage the most because it is the stage I remember the most about. This part of my life seemed to never end. There was a lot of growing up to do. I also had to find myself as an individual, “who am I? and what is my purpose?” I believe that in the adolescence stage you experience new things that can really shape how you see the world as an adult. Through this stage of development is where I changed the most as a person. My changes were in a good way as I became more aware of how everything you do, does affect who you are and how you see others around you. Many teens rebel against authority and I was never like that, I did have an attitude for a while but that changed very quickly. I believe this is a very crucial point in time for a person. This is the time where adolescents truly find themselves and how they want to contribute to society as they move into the next stage. It is a stage where a lot of teens feel pressure to grow up, but at the same time it is the stage where you experience a lot of fun new things. Now as an adult, I look back and think that my adolescent stage was probably the best stage for me. I am thankful to have had such great support at home to guide me and keep me in line whenever I needed
