People were willing to change the rulers to better their own lot, but they soon discover that things have gotten worse; so the best method was to divide peoples in different territories and to establish colonies in them, to protect the neighboring minor powers, to weaken strong factions within the state, and to guard against foreign powers.
The modern concept was to break rules and avoid wars and that what king Louis didn’t follow of policies in Italy, therefore it leads to failed in order to keep his territories and that by making the church more powerful to weaken the other powers, so people must trust the ruler and give him loyalty if he helped them and work in a way that gain their respect and achieve their request. …show more content…
Regardless of how a prince comes to power, he should make every effort to win the good will of the people, or in times of trouble, he will have no hope, a wise ruler will contrive to keep all his citizens dependent on him and on the state, and then he will be able to trust
