We may not know how our research may be used, and what impact it may have. For example, Criminal Justice Research can have immense impact on Policy Making. Arthur H. Garrison states, "The criminal justice researcher who understands the decision-making process within state criminal justice policy-making agencies can influence decisions by providing research to meet policy makers ' needs." (Garrison, 2009) However, within the article Garrison quoted Rock who stated, "Politicians act from moral conviction, political need, and personal opportunism.
