In larger hotels, there may be a full-time director of safety and sercurity and a staff of department employees who routinely patrol the hotels grounds , make safety and security checks, and direct the hotel's safety programs. In other cases, the hotel may contract with a private security firm to provide security services. In still other cases, off -duty police may be hired to assist with the hotel's security efforts.
