Numerous examples indicate that most of the tests are wasteful and ridiculous. Because of testing most animals are left in terrible condition. A couple months after PETA was founded by Alex Pacheco,he took the police to a science lab, IBR also called the institute for behavioral research. When they got there and went inside almost twenty macaque monkeys were in horrible condition. Most of the monkeys had dirty open wounds with patches of missing hair. The monkey's tails were lacking hair that they pulled out because of stress (Noah Berlatsky). There is no reason why animals should have to suffer going through all these tests and being left in poor condition, sometimes not even making it out alive. After all the experiments animals are put through, when they are finished, animals are still treated inhuman. One way these animals are treated after after testing is they are kept in a chamber like area, where carbon monoxide is slowly put in so the animals will die from suffocation. Another way is to break their spine or using decapitation killing them instantly. Researchers sometimes will keep the brain tissue after the animals are dead. The way these animals are treated and killed after is quite barbaric. Because of testing animals are put at a risk of being tortured and killed in the …show more content…
Some say that all of the new alternatives that are being found might not provide reliable data on how these medications could affect humans. Professor Carl Cohen states that “Experiments on animals are necessary in order to safeguard and improve human health and well being (Carl Cohen). Animal testing can give accurate data on the effects of new medication. Unlike computer simulations and other substitutes for animals, that might not give reliable information. Animal experimentation has also contributed to many treatments and vaccines. According to biomedical researchers, in the past 100 years all medical breakthroughs were completed with the help of animal research. With the help of these animals many medical discoveries have been made.saving many people's lives and helping the ill. Contributing a great amount to the medical fields. Experimental animals can play a huge role in advancing in medicine, testing out new medicines and products before they hit the
