In this study Coleman and his colleagues looked at the knowledge level, the perceptions surrounding, and the perceived harms of electronic cigarettes by their adult users. All participants of the focus groups who were selected to be a part of this study were current e-cigarette users within the past 30 days. The focus groups discussed why the participants used e-cigarettes, their current level of knowledge about e-cigarette products and the ingredients used, and their beliefs about the associated harms of e-cigarettes. They were also asked about the opinions of their family and friends regarding their e-cigarette usage.
