A Hero can change the world in many positive ways, and make the world a better place, like these three in this text. Like sports hall of fames, why shouldn’t heroes have hall of fames too? Three heroes who should be honored in the Hero Hall of Fame are Harriet Tubman, Gandhi and Nelson Mandela.
The first person who should be in the Hero Hall of Fame is Nelson Mandela. Nelson Mandela accomplished many things. He helped racial problems in Africa. He was also President of South Africa from 1994-1999. Nelson Mandela faced many challenges in his life. He went to jail many times after being involved in protests and was arrested. He also received lots of death threats from anti-civil rights activists, which was a huge risk to him because he didn’t know when his life could end from them. Nelson Mandela had many qualities. By 1860, when she was 40 years old, she had already freed 19 slaves, one of which were her 70 year old parents. Harriet Tubman faced many challenges. Back then, Slavery was still legal, and not everyone thought it was a bad thing, so people thought she was breaking the law. She received lots of death threats from other people, one including when she was put on a poster saying “Wanted Dead: 40,000$ reward” which would be 1.1M in today’s money. The best quality Harriet Tubman had was being Brave. No one else dared to help the slaves escape, but Harriet Tubman was brave enough to do this. She helped eventually end slavery when Abraham Lincoln was president, and he passed a law banning slavery.
