The way you see new trends and different styles in the name of rap and streetwear. A man who was born in chicago and moved to China at the age of 10.Kanye Omari West, one of the most iconic hip-hop rappers influenced American culture by creating new trends and producing music that changed the rap genre.
Kanye was creating many different ways to express himself such as in music,fashion, and social media. The biggest way he expressed himself, besides in music, was in the fashion industry. Kanye would wear pink Ralph Lauren Polo shirts with a backpack on(TeenVogue), solely because when he came into the music industry he wasn't rich so he would wear clothes in his budget but will accessories that made him the outcast he wanted to be known

But in many ways he did change the rap industry. Kanye worked on many different albums with huge artist before his album debut album ‘The College Dropout’ , for example he worked with Jay Z Beyonce and other.Kanye was a producer on Jay Z’s album ‘The Blueprint’ which sold over 2 million copies in the United States and top 1 in charts in 2001 (Seth). Kanye would use old classic R&B melodies into his music and form of introducing his pace of the song but changed it up with other types of beats. In hs song “Diamond from Sierra Leone” he uses a sample from the “Diamonds are Forever” by Shirley Bassey (Flowers). Kanye understands that the impact of every endeavor must land like a knockout punch meaning he needs to come out with music that will make a statement. Kanye did just that by creating a system of free music for his fans. Every Friday Kanye would publish music onto the web for free, his music consisted of many remixes and songs with other not highly known artist such as Big Sean, who now is very known. Eventually he named this type of activity “GOOD FRIDAYS” because many people are happy it is Friday, they get payed, it's the weekend and people are waiting to go partying while listening to new Kanye (Complex). This idea of”GOOD FRIDAYS” worked out perfectly, gaining new fans every week for Kanye. Other artist saw the impact this had on Kanye’s popularity they also practiced on giving out free music to create exposure for themselves. While Kanye had so much exposure on him at the moment he hopped onto twitter where he would have fans anticipated for new content. As he gain more followers he would show up to social media headquarters such as at facebook and twitter to perform live concert and live videos for more exposure (Complex)! Kanye started a college dropout and working for Jay-Z as a producing to being a well known American role
