The first difference was when Jonas had to receive a memory. The Giver touched Jonas’s wrist, but in the book the giver touched Jonas’s back. This makes a difference because when Jonas received the memory of war the giver pretended to be dead and then jumped up and grabbed Jonas’ wrist. In the book Jonas new that he would receive pain. This makes a difference because Jonas was more afraid of the war in the movie. He was not expecting the pain, but in the book he knew that he would receive pain. “Move to the bed, and lie face down.
