Personal Narrative: Improving My Community

Although I attend Xavier, which was founded by St. Katharine Drexel, I did not know much about her or her mission. Founders Day Convocation gave me background on her to better understand her purpose and Xavier’s mission. I was able to understand the bigger picture, which is bigger than me and my degree, my purpose is to be able to help improve my community through leadership and purpose while also obtaining my degree. In order to become a better person I need to be more involved within my community. In my sentiment, without understanding the needs of your community a person cannot understand their true purpose.
