The sun wasn't even quite up, yet the flames made the area almost bright as day, raging flames that lapped away at the bases of the large concrete structures built long before the war and dotted the wasteland for some distance, flames that stood as a testament to the cruelty and savageness of the attack as well as the power of the attacking gang. These flames had dwindled over time but many of the constructions of the trader camp still burned brightly and energetically. At first glance it was almost like the area had been hit with a flamethrower or fire spell. Yet, these flames were not created by any weapon made by the hands of man - the attack had come swiftly and with no warning, only the silent gust of air a signal before the trader camp…

There are many genetic traits out there in the world, but if I could only have one that I could pass down to future generations, it would be The Force from Star Wars. I would want to have The Force because I would be able to read and control everyone's mind, and I would be able to move objects, no matter how big or small. I could, dare I say it, rule the world. I would be able to save people with the Force and help prevent future attacks from occuring. I could also help the government by getting involved with the CIA, and by using my special abilities, I could search for terrorists and fugitives that have escaped.…
A Hero's Journey The last month of summer before my junior year started was occupied with pondering and wondering what I wanted to accomplish during the upcoming school year. Sure, junior year sounds like a blast, filled with fun memories and friends. But it also doubles as approaching the cliff of adulthood that I would hit in two short years. Every step I take my junior and senior year will be one step closer to that ledge.…

The robot takes over the world, people sleep in the program that they created and live in a virtual life. My eyes are kept focus on the screen. The love for The Matrix goes back when I was in middle school, the first time I watched the movie. The Matrix is a science fiction film. This movie is about Neo, a guy who sleeps on the Matrix for a long time and one day he gets hacked.…
*If your a Star Wars fan, odds are you have collection of toys and memorabilia. Some of you may know that when I learned about Death Star day, I took a rough estimate of what I've spent on Star Was in my life. The figure I came up with is in the five figure range. My test tent to lye with vintage material. It took me three years to find a reasonable priced bootleg of The Holiday Special.…
The concepts we use shape the conclusions we reach because the concepts we use are the routes we take to where we get. The route an individual takes will ultimately and completely determine the conclusion that person reaches. The routes we take and the conclusions we reach are one hundred percent dependant on each other, taking one route of thought will get you to a completely different mental conclusion than another. This led me to an important discovery of self-knowledge.…
Due to my ADD I have always struggle with memory and I have to set reminders for the most basic of tasks but when it comes to Star Wars trivia I can remember anything. When I was five years old I went to watch Revenge of the Sith in theaters with my dad and I can remember it like it was yesterday. All of a sudden the theater got really quiet and the only thing on the screen was a single sentence in blue lettering my dad leaned down and whispered “ A long time ago in a galaxy far far away.” My mouth dropped at utter amazement as John Williams famous theme sounded everyone was reading the yellow text floating up the screen. Throughout the movie I would bug my father “when is the next fight scene” not realizing that this is the first time he had seen this.…

There is no denying that George Lucas’ Star Wars is one of the greatest film franchises that will ever exist on the big screen. The Force Awakens, the newest film, has been criticized by some fans for copying the story of the original 1977 trilogy. Although there are some similarities between the two films’ plots, the story of the original films can be connected to the heroic plot traditions of Lord Raglan, and Luke Skywalker’s character reflects the virtues outlined in Alasdair MacIntyre’s After Virtue. There is also reason to believe that Luke’s story will have a tragic end, much like the stories of ancient Greece. This paper will make references to the original Star Wars trilogy (A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi),…
This was the first post I wrote for the event, I wrote it several months ago well before we began to have any victories, most noteworthy, the Black Series poll and the TOR expansion. It doesn't pull it punches and is somewhat harse, but quite accurate. This was written at a time I wasn't sure if we could win and I was gearing up for a lifelong struggle. I now know we can and will win this fight. We will restore the #TrEU.…
