My birth name is Bangde Fu, since my birth name is hard to pronounce, I go by the name Annie. I am Asian-American, to be more specific, I am Chinese. I was born in Guangxi, China. I moved to America with my mom when I was seven years old. I am now seventeen years old. I am currently a Senior enrolled at Central High School. I am bilingual. I speak proficient Mandarin and Cantonese. I live with my grandma, mom, dad, and two brothers. Among my two brothers, I am the eldest. It is said, according to StrengthsQuest and my family, that my best qualities includes the ability to be adaptive and restorative.
Before I was enrolled in Central High School as a transfer, I 've attended Crossroads Accelerated Academy (an accelerated program that offers students the opportunity to take eighth and ninth grade in one year) and Andrew Jackson Elementary School. I attended Crossroads because I was behind a year academically. I had immigrated to America without speaking any English. My elementary school decided among with my parents that it was best for me to start from the bottom; first grade instead of my appropriate second grade level. I love helping people and being there as a support. As a physical therapist, I can talk to the patient, help restore patient 's movements, prevent disability, talk to them about their daily activities and health. As a dentist, I can help control the amount of pain patients deal with, such as pain regarding to tooth decay or gum disease. I will take on my role as a dentist to help restore teeth; if necessary. This summer, I had signed up with Sy Cep for a paid internship at Dr.John’s Pediatric Dental Clinic. I wanted to get the work experience and be able to learn more about the role a dentist.
