In the book, however, it went into more detail about how distant she was with her father. In the end, both the book and the movie have many similarities and differences. In my opinion though, I like the book better than the movie, because it goes deeper with important details than the movie does. The main characters Julie and R’s character development doesn’t change the way their relationship turns out.…

Why I preferred the book well to start with it gives lots of details instead of the movie. It does actually mean a lot if I like a book because I tend to be very picky about what I read. the book plot, story, theme, everything was so well done and thought out that once you start reading it, it is hard to put it down and stop reading. Reason why it is so hard to stop reading it well every chapter pretty much end with a cliffhanger. Great books like this one are very hard to come by.…

A few important character connections and details were in the book that were left out in the movie. In the book, for example, Kim and Mia’s relationship wasn’t as detailed in the movie. It didn’t show their fight like it did in the book and all of their childhood between the two seemed to be missing from the movie. Mia and Kim had some important things that occurred in their childhood which I thought was important and should have been included in the movie. Her grandparents also weren’t in the movie as much as they were in the book.…

Modern Native Son Essay Two different shades of skin fill an immense amount of hate into people of the same kind. Humans are the same in many ways that, surely, it would seem that although we come in different sizes and colors, loathing and discrimination wouldn’t be much of an important matter. But then again, it’s one of the biggest issues society has been facing for generations now. Native Son written by Richard Wright and Remember the Titans directed by Boaz Yakin may seem divergent but in small ways are they homogeneous.…

It isn’t too easy for a newly recognized demi-god to go into multiple battles without practice, but he has Annabeth and Grover to help him through it. One of the first battles on their long journey is with Medusa. In the book, they battle Medusa because she wants to kill them for herself in the same way as the movie. However, in the book after they dissect Medusa's head from her body, they ship it to the gods in Olympus to give them a good scare differ from the movie because they carry the head along with them through the mission and they use her head to defeat the Hydra, which only appears in the second movie. The perspective that the movie was viewed from was the most noticeable difference, in my opinion, because it tells one more about the character of Jessie. As I’ve read in the book, Jessie was mentioned only in the first chapter and wasn’t considered a main character, while in the movie, the whole story was seen from her perspective. Some characters, namely Mr. Whymper, Clover, Mollie, etc. weren’t mentioned, or were in the movie. One other thing excluded in the movie was Napoleon’s alcoholism, probably to lighten the story a tad bit. To me, these differences take away part of the story, but most movie adaptations of books almost always do.…

Though the settings had noticeable differences being in two different continents and all, the newer environment from the movie attempts to modernize the story. In my perspective, the original setting from the book does a better job in making it more believable since it matches with the time period it takes place in, too. Comparing and contrasting the time and place of the book and movie can help the audience understand the reasons behind a character's actions or…

Whenever Hollywood writers adapt a story, it changes. In the case of Perseus, there were drastic differences. There are many similarities and differences between the story of Perseus and Clash of the Titans.…

Plot Clashes in Clash of the Titans Between Clash of the Titans, the original Greek story, and the 2010 movie, there are a variety of similarities and differences. Although both plot lines follow a similar pattern, the details in the Greek story are much different than the movie. Simply stated, in the movie version it is more about Perseus saving Princess Andromeda and reuniting with Io, while in the Greek mythology plot, Perseus is attempting to save his mother, Danae, from marrying the awful Polydectes by being challenged to chop off the head of Medusa. Similarities of this story and movie are that King Acrisius ordered the execution of his daughter, Danae, and her son, Perseus.…

It seems an unfair view to expect a movie about a book to be exactly the same down to every single detail. Communities of fans will always find something wrong with a story, for it has “failed” to match expectation. Books are a place where someone can be dragged into the story and forget about everything else for a short while. Movies do the exact same thing, except it is seen as an easier way than books for a lot of people. Ignoring obvious differences (such as the fact that one is in picture form, and the other is in words), movies and books may not be so different after all.…
