Tell me a little about yourself.
I was born a sheep farmer in Washington State along the Pacific Ocean and Canadian border. In 2012 I separated as flight medic in the United States Army. While in the military we use a lot of computers, data bases and everything is encapsulated with Security. The wounded warrior project offered some free courses. When I added that knowledge to what we used in everyday life, I realized it was time for a change from medicine to technology. It’s been a few years since I switched fields and love every minute.
What can you do for us that some else can’t?
I have a background in medicine and military. According to Parata's website you service both the government and various medical facilities. I have a solid understanding of the language and requirements of these environments.
Why should we hire you?
I have lived the last 9 years dealing with crisis management. Peoples lives have literally been in my hands, while other people have depended on me to manage, direct, and resolve problems both on and off duty. This ability to multitask makes me an asset for
What do you look for in a job?
In a job I look for an areas of expertise that I enjoy. I want to feel challenged to meet the next level while making a positive difference. I want my values and that of the company to align and I want to enjoy my co-workers.
How long would it take you to make a meaningful contribution to our firm?
I will begin pulling my weight after orientation and initial training are complete but depending on the regulation, and complexity of the organization in may take 3 months to 1 year to make a major contribution.
Did you change the nature of your job?
I have changed the nature in many jobs. I have helped create companies, designing database trackers, standard operating procedures, personnel actions and many more.
Can you work under pressure and deal with deadlines?
In a management role, I often a have to backwards plan to create multiple deadlines, allowing for the successful completion of a company department or task. Many times these deadlines are last minute creations. I step back analyze the situation, divide assignments all while keeping a cool head.
In your present (last) position, what problems did you identify that had previously been overlooked?
At Telenet the connect no browse TS page was missing a key step needed to help new helpdesk trainees progress in their overall knowledge. I brought the issue up to my supervisor it has since been resolved.
If you could start your career over again what would you do differently?
All careers start with the basics, I was bored in High School and played around, I did not start attending college until my senior year. If I were to do it different I would have completed my degree before graduating high school.
What career options do you have at this moment?
The opportunities are endless. Computers are an emerging technology. The IT field branches in so many departments. I have not jumped on any one path and am looking for the right fit.
How would you define success?
Success is enjoying what do, work should not be thought of as something negative, but something you look forward to,
How successful do you think you’ve been so far?
I am happy with my career choices so far. My livestock trading business was expanding until I joined the Army. I learned about high intensity situations, management, and the importance of team work. during my military career. I am on my third career and enjoying every minute.

I am looking for a full time position, where I can grow professionally advancing on the current skills I posses.

Provide entry-level technical phone support to instruct customers and field employees in the basic operation and maintenance of the hardware, software and related network and database applications. while being able to work a rotational basis on weekends, and holidays.

It depends on the job or the challenge
Don’t you think you might be better suited for a different size company? To a different type of company?
This job sounds like a perfect fit. It has plenty of opportunities for professional growth working in a call center environment. It appears Parata has contracts with the military and VA; not only do I speak the military lingo but I have spend 8.5 years working in the medical field allowing me to better serve the needs of the customer.
If you could choose any company, where would you go?
I have not been actively searching for a new job, however I do like enjoy going into work. I loved the military, excelled in medicine and with Parata I can combine medicine, military and technology all in one place.
What other jobs are you considering?
I have considered looking into the call center at Cisco, or corning.
What are your long-range goals?
I would like to reach the next level, Be at a point where I can instruct and train new employees while growing and changing with the times.
What do you find most attractive about this position? What seems least attractive about it?
From the articles I have read Parata has potential for expansion and growth, although reviews show Parata as not having any current plans the possibilities for the product and business plan allow for large scale expansion.
In your current (last) position, what
features do (did) you like the most? The least?
My favorite part of my current job it the customer satisfaction accomplished by solving a customers issue. I would have to say the worst part is knowing I can fix a problem but based on protocols inform the customer their issue is out of our scope of practice and offer to sell them a better service.
In your current (last) position, what have been (were) your five most significant accomplishments?
1. Started helping new employees solve problems within a month and a half

2. Learned about and deployed host files successfully ridding computers of advertisements.

3. Have learned to better read emotion in a persons voice to determine need.

4. The ability translate computer knowledge into terminology that an elderly person with their first computer is able to accomplish his/her task

How long will you stay with us?
I am interested in a career with parata, but would have to continue to feel challenged to remain with the organization. Or as long as we are both feel achievement oriented.
Your resume suggests that you may be overqualified or too experienced for this position. What do you think?
I am interested in establishing a long term relationship with the company, and I would assume that If I performed well new opportunities would open up for me. Parata seems to be a strong company with plans for the future. Although the web page says there is not a lot of room for growth in certain departme
What is your management style?
My management style varies with the situation and position I hold. In upper management I may have little interaction with some employees and delegate to a select view while monitoring the reactions and environment from afar, directing change only stepping in when middle management is unable or asks for help with a situation.

In other positions I may be very hands on interactive with high emphasis on professional growth.
Are you a good manager? Can you give me some examples? Do you feel that you have top management potential?
I am a fair and equal manager. I teach all my managers to write reviews within a specific standard, following up on their results. I take care of my people. In the military I was always given the problem children, because I could usually pinpoint the problem and often made an excellent soldier out of the former trouble maker.
What do you think is the most difficult thing
about being a manager or an executive?
You cannot be everywhere at once and sometimes you can have a leader who made a mistake and pawns it off on an employee because they are embarrassed or do not want to take the fall for his/her mistake.
Do you consider yourself a leader?
Yes, In the military I was often acting two pay grades above my rank. This experience has given me the ability to manage personnel, equipment and accomplish my primary tasks all at the same time.
What do you look for when you hire people?
First I need to have a strong understanding of the position being filled. Does it take skill, do I expect I high turnover, what are the working conditions, what are the physical demands, what kind of training is involved in filling the position? Once I have an overall impression, I will begin my search, narrow down my candidates based on job requirements, personality, individual goals and aspirations, and other variable pertaining to the job. I will then select a candidate and offer them the position.
Have you ever had to fire people? What were the reasons, and how did you handle the
situation?
I have fired many people. Some were job specific and I relocated them to a position better suited, some had attendance issues, others refused to do simple but mandatory tasks (they thought they were above those). In every situation I gave each employee a review included good things and the things that needed work. If the employee was unable to comply for the good of the company I took action.

Why are you leaving (did leave) your present (last) position?
There is little opportunity to grow professionally. There is a limited scope of practice in which we must adhere to. I would also like a full time employment opportunity.
Why haven’t you found a job before now?
I have not been actively looking. I have placed my resume on a few sites but jumped from job to job after getting out of the army, between moving, companies going bankrupt, and commission only jobs I figured I needed some stability before looking for another employment opportunity.
Did you think of leaving your present position before? If so, what do you think held you there?
The company is great, the hours are variable, full time is considered 36 hours per week. I enjoy stability and working with others who are more knowledgeable than me and based on my research parata fits both those categories.
What do you think of your (former) boss?
We have the top selling team, during reviews my current boss will answer a hundred questions if I have them. He is quick to respond with questions or concerns. He seems to enjoy what he does and takes care of his team.
Will you be out to take your boss’s job?
While I certainly hope to win additional responsibility in the organization, I am always focused on learning and accomplishing the current job.
Would you describe a few situations in which your work was criticized?
1. I am a very creative thinker at times and think out of the box. in Afghanistan I was given a room with medical supplies and drugs all thrown together. I moved everything into a corner, everybody didn't think I could fix it, I gathered big boxes, some were more stable that others and created shelves for the supplies.
If I spoke with your (former) boss, what would he or she say are your greatest strengths and weaknesses?
He would say my greatest strengths and weakness are customer service. I fix the customers problem with ease, with very few customers needing additional assistance. I set them up for the best system for his/her needs. Sometimes this causes me to go over the 700 second threshold the company prefers us to have.
What are your strong points?
My strong points are leadership, management, customer service, and desire for professional growth.
What are your weak points?
I am still new in the overall picture when it comes to technology. I would have to say Active directory is one of my weaker points.
Why aren’t you earning more at your age?
I have made more money in the past, Today I want to focus on the future, and enjoy what I am doing. I feel having money is nice it is not a necessity.
What do you feel this position should pay?
I understand the position is between $16- $17 that seems appropriate
Do you have any objection to psychological tests?
I would feel comfortable taking one.

I often speak to strangers. I have worked many jobs where being friendly and outgoing is a plus. Sometimes just smiling at someone can make there day. You never know what someone has gone threw.
