Compare and contrast areas of CNS gray matter and white matter

The CNS has two kinds of tissue.


Gray matter contains CELL BODIES, dendrites, and axon terminals of neurons as well as all nerve synapses.


White matter is composed of AXONS connecting different parts of gray matter to each other.


Cortex= gray matter on the outside


Nuclei= gray matter on the inside
