Why do ionic substances have a high melting point?

It is an ionic lattice, strong electrostatic forces of attraction between oppositely charged ions requires a lot of energy to break.

Why are ionic substances good conductors of electricity?

They don't conduct as solids only as liquids or in solution since the ions are free to move.

Why do covalent molecules have low melting points?

Weak intermolecular forces so small amounts of energy are needed to overcome them.

What can nanoparticles be used for?

Sun screen, face creams, tan creams, deodorants. Catalysts as well.
