What are functions and location of elevators/trim tabs?
Elevators ctrl pitching motion of A/C and are attached to the horizontal stabilizer.
What are functions of slats and where are they located?
Improves lift at low speeds. Allow A/C to be ctrl at airspeeds below normal landing speed.
They are attached to the leading edge of the wings. |
What is operation or ctrl and safety precautions of slats?
When slat is retracted it forms leading edge of wing. When open, a slot is created allowing air to flow through. Hydraulics should be called out to ensure pers are not present. They could be trapped between.
Function/local of strut?
Absorb shock that would otherwise be absorbed by airframe. Wheels are mounted on strut assembly.
Local of wheels?
A/C has dual wheels attached to each shock strut assembly
Function/local and precautions of landing gear doors?
Doors which close flush with fuselage when land gear is extended.
They are hinged to the fuselage around main/nose land gear. Use belly bypass handle which keeps doors from auto closing. |
Function/local/operation or ctrl of hydraulic pump?
Supplies hydro fluid to a system.
L and R engine. 2 alternates in right wheel well. 2 independent hydro sys. Can be stopped by pulling fire shutoff handles |
Function/local of hyrdo reservoir?
Stores 3 gallons of fluid. There is site glass to check for air accumulation.
They are in L and R wheelwell. 1 reservoir for each system. |
Function/local of hydro accumulators?
provides means for checking initial charging pressure.
2 in each wheelwell. |
Function/local/precaution of fluid?
Conducts pressure into work. Keeps sys working.
Local through sys and primary in accumulators. Do not get on skin or in eyes. |
Fore stairs/components function/local/precautions?
Exit from A/C
Port side of A/C under fore enter door Slide girt bar must be properly stowed before opening the door for normal deplaning. extend hand rails. |
aft stairs/components function/local/precautions?
part of tailcone which lowered/extended for exit from A/C.
Check for pers outside of tailcone. Don't manually drop stair |
function/local service door
for additional servicing of A/C so not to interfere with pax load.

precations of cargo door
Don't taxi a/c w/cargo door opened/unlatched. If wind is 40-66 k, open door to 84 degree position only if a/c is parked so that wind direction is against right side of a/c, otherwise don't open
