What does each wing tank incorporate? |
A collector and a surge tank |
What is the purpose of the collector tank? |
Designed to keep the fuel pumps submerged and keep a constant fuel flow to the engines |
What is the purpose of a surge tank? |
Collects any fuel that went through the vent system during uncoordinated manuevers |
Total weight of the fuel in the tanks when full? |
20,786 |
Total number and type of fuel pumps. |
11 total, each wing contains an ejector pump, wing ac pump, 3 scavenge pumps, dc pump (right tank only) |
What is the purpose of the scavenge pumps? |
Keeps the collector tank full to ensure constant fuel feed to the engines |
What is the purpose of the DC fuel pump? |
Provides the fuel to the apu operation, also during engine start when AC power not available |
How does fuel crossfeed work? |
By selecting low 1, the logic activates ac fuel pump 2 and openes the crossfeed valve, this will feed the engines from tank 2 |
What is the maximum fuel imbalance? |
800 (794 for skywest) |
Low fuel level activation level? |
660ibs in tank |
What would indicate scanvenge pump failure? |
Fuel low level trigger warning at 3970ibs of fuel in 1 tank |
Can the plane be fueled with no ac power? |
Yes |
