Compressor

pump that draws low-pressure refrigerant vapor from the low side of the refrigerant cycle and squeezes are compressible babe proportion and into the high pressure of condensing side of the cycle

condenser

In the refrigeration Cycle removes the condensation heat from the refrigerant vapor by releasing the condensation heat the vapor condenses back to liquid

Convection

The transfer of heat from one place to another by means of a liquid or gas

Burnout

The condition in wasted insulation electrical motor due

to overheating

Dry bulb temperature

The air temperature taken with the sensitive element of the thermometer in a dry condition

Evaporator

A component in your refrigeration system where low pressure refrigerant vaporizes and absorbs heat (type of heat exchanger)

Flash gas

The instantaneous evaporation of liquid refrigerant after the metering device

Heat

A form of energy that when applied to a substance results in increased motion of atoms

Heat exchanger

A vessel that transfers heat from one substance to another

Heat pump

Heat pumps are similar to comfort cooling systems but they can reverse their operation to also provide heating

High side

The parts of a refrigeration system subject to a high pressure such as a compressor condenser liquid receiver and liquid line

Horse power

The US customary unit of mechanical power equal to 550 pound of work per second

Latent heat

Heat that brings about a change of state with no change in temperature

Latent heat of fusion

The amount of heat added to or removed from a substance to change it from a solid to liquid or a liquid to solid

Latent heat of evaporation

The amount of heat added to or removed from a substance to change from a liquid to a gas or gas to liquid

Liquid line

Tubing that carries liquid refrigerant from the condenser or liquid receiver line to the metering device

Liquid

Any physical substance that has no definite shape but has a definite volume a liquid take the shape of its container

Liquid receiver

A tank connected between the outlet of the condenser and a liquid line that is used for refrigerant storage located on the high side

Metering device

A device used to regulate the flow of liquid refrigerant into the evaporator such as a capillary tube expansion valve about or float valve

Radiation

The transfer of heat by heat rays

refrigerant

A substance used in a refrigeration system to absorb heat from a conditioned space and release heat outside the conditioned space

Relative humidity

A ratio of the moisture content in the air compared to the maximum amount of moisture( saturation) that the air can hold at its current temperature

Saturated vapor

In an HVACR system a refrigerant in vapor form under condition that would cause some of the vapor to condense if any amount of heat were removed from it .saturated vapor in a fix volume could also can dance if pressure is increased

Accumulator

Is a tank to help prevent liquid refrigerant from flowing through the suction line into the compressor

Suction line

Carry the refrigerant vapor from the evaporator to the compressor

Suction line filter drier

Does the same thing as a liquid line dryer but on the low side

Vibration absorber

Is a flexible type of line that carries refrigerant but also reduces for dampens any vibration or physical motion transmitted to it

Muffler

Vibration absorbing device most domestic refrigeration systems have small mufflers installed in the suction and discharge line

Water valve

Is located between the water supply in the condenser

Dew point

Is the temperature below which water vapor in the air will start to condense

Hot gas defrost

the evaporator is defrosted by hot gas refrigerant vapor pumped directly from the compressor discharge line into the evaporator tubing

Heat exchanger

Helps prevent the return of liquid refrigerant to the inlet of the compressor and provide subcooling to the liquid refrigerant before enter the evaporator

Suction service valve(ssv)

Is a low side service valve that connects to the suction line and directly onto the compressor at its outlet

Discharge service valve(dsv)

Is a high side service valve that is mounted at the compressor discharge port providing me shut off between the compressor and the condensers

Discharge line

Carries high-pressure vapor refrigerant from the compressor outlet to the condenser and let the line is also called the hot gas line

Suction line

The suction line from the evaporator outlet to the compressor inlet

Psychrometer

Use the sling psychrometer

Fahrenheit

At sea level.. Of water is 212 degrees Fahrenheit the freezing point of water is 32 degrees Fahrenheit

Conduction

The flow of heat between substance by molecular vibration
