Name a time you made a mistake and how do you go about it?

As I mentioned when I transferred from Dfw to LaGuardia it was a transition form hanger to line before and I never work line before and there was a plane that needed a mel to be issued and I was unsure if I had wrote the write up correctly. I consulted a friend then he Told me another way. Then I remember that there is a GPM section on it and I consulted the GPM and turns out we where both wrong I was able to correctly issue the Mel and was able to send the plane on its way with the proper documentation.

Name a time you saw someone violating company policy

A time I saw someone violating company policy was just recently actually a coworker of mine what applying speed tape to erosion damage on the vertical stab of a 175 and he was using a scissor lift and he was about 19feet in the air without a harness and at envoy we require a guide person whenever you operate machinery in the aircraft envelope. He didn’t have that as well. I remind him that he didn’t have a harness and I wasn’t to busy so I stayed with him until he finished. If he wasn’t willing to take my advice I would have went to my supervisor and info him of the situation

Name a time there was a safety issue present and a jam needed to be done how would you go about it?

I’ve been on plenty of road trips. We came into work we had our shift briefing we had a safety meeting and the work load was issued and then the sup had mentioned that there was a road trip and that he needed volunteers he said the aircraft had issues with erratic itt. I volunteered and another coworker volunteer. I realized that we were probably need to take it out to taxi to verify that it’s functional and I consulted my coworker and I asked him “hey you’re not taxi qualified are you “and he said no I’m not. He was like don’t worry he got this and he was saying they trust me and he knows that we can do this I’ll sorts of things. I’m not gonna go on trust someone, we talk about and a/c that is millions of dollars here. I told him are you qualified or not and if you’re not tell the supervisor that you’re gonna have to decline the road trip. He said no, I informed the supervisor I told him I wasn’t checking run man and that it’s a new airport for me and the weather conditions are terrible and that he isn’t qualified. Once the supervisor found out that he wasn’t qualified he was taken off the road trip and another buddy of mine volunteered who is qualified and we were able to so if the issue out. He later comes to me and says thanks for ruining my paycheck. I told him the only reason why I’m allowed to go on this road trip is because of my qualifications and it you wanted to go so badly you should have gotten certified

Name a time you have to correct it coworker or point something out how would you go about it?

There are not many tech savi people at Cmh but for me it comes naturally. Usually I’m the one to get all the downloads and uploads to do for our aircraft. A coworker of mine was assigned to was assigned to the uploads and downloads to his aircraft but he normally doesn’t do it. So he asked for my assistance. So what I did was I walked him through the work card and then demonstrate it on my plane. I then shadowed him while he did it to see if he was doing it correctly and I would step in if he asked or was stuck on step

Suppose you had multiple Ron’s what scheduled work how would you prioritize work to ensure maximum efficiency

I would completely task with high priorities first p0 and p1 and making sure I communicate with my crew chief in order to effectively complete my task Efficiently. At the end of the work day I would go over what and how I’ve done it and see where I can improve

Troubleshoot a burnt out taxi light

Fim Check breakers. Then confirm the light isn’t working. Check continuity a lightbulb if no continuity than the filament burnt. Then check the voltage if there’s voltage coming in then it’s probably the fixture. Check voltage and power supply if voltage is going in I’m not leaving is the power supply if no voltage at all then work my way back to relay and then switch and so on.

What is an Mel

MEL has 4 categories ABC and D category A is a specified interval category B 3 days category C is 10 days and category D is 120 days you are able to extend category eight NC you cannot extend a A and D. This authorization is good for a one- time extension. If the operator wants or needs to extend the interval again, the operator must get approval from the FAA

Resume

I graduated aviation high school in 2017 I stayed back next year to obtain my other license and that time I worked at a ram company across from hangar 10 UPS. After obtaining my licenses I got hired with Envoy straight out of high school in November 2018 The spots were filled in New York so I decided to take a transfer two Dallas Fort Worth and work at our HQ base which was hanger. There I changed tires, engines worked with avionics and obtained a lot of troubleshooting skills that would help me in the future. From there I transferred to LaGuardia and develop my line skills which was basically how to fix things in a fast pace movie environment and if he can fix it I learned how to Mel tdmi and cdl. And then transferred over to Jfk and here’s where I stepped up as crew chief an inspector on multipl ovations as well as going on road trips to Scranton and Norfolk and other destinations . My start date to become crew chief was around the corner but unfortunately Covid came and changed my streamline path. Instead of taking furloughed I decided to take a chance and transfer to CMH which in hindsight I feel like was the better choice. Cmh I was able to become an operator on both freight types. Learned how to move planes in and out of the hanger. And overall further develop my skills instead of being stagnant at home

Name a time I felt nice

Working on planes is such a cool job, I would say delays are a double edge sword. Working line One thing I hate about it is that delay that causes people D board and seeing the frustration on faces of the passenger but I do enjoy when you resolve an issue and the plane being able to depart and allow love one and family to come and fly back home

Core values

Our JetBlue values – safety, caring, integrity, passion and fun – are what we're about. Inspiring humanity only works if both crewmembers and customers believe it's a truly authentic mission.

what’s the most important quality a mechanic can have

Patients as a mechanic things never really go your way but you should have patience and Not to get frustrated about an outcome. Take your time‘s. Step back see what an issue is . try troubleshooting the issue instead of forcing an outcome because when you try to rush something that’s when mistakes occur that’s when you start jeopardizing safety.

What is a CDL

The CDL is a listing of regulator-approved non-structural external parts that may be missing but the airplane remains airworthy. The CDL should not be confused with the MEL (MEL). While the MEL describes the limitations of aircraft operation in case of a system being inoperative/having malfunctioned (e.g. transponder failure), the CDL deals with situations where external parts of an aircraft are missing/fallen off (e.g. fairings, aerodynamic seals or panels).

What is the importance of a static discharger

The main purpose of the static discharger is to improve dispersal of accumulated aircraft static charges in an effort to reduce radio interference. The static dischargers, or static wicks, provide a path for the excess electrons to flow back into the atmosphere, rather than being held up in the air frame. This prevents static build up. The end of the wicks looks very much like a brush and is of very low resistance to make it easier for the electrons to escape.

Name a time you found a non routine item

Pirep for a/c damage While preforming my preflight walk around I noticed a dent. I would Verify it’s not written up in the logbook. Notify my crew chief. If it’s already been previously documented in the ADL. If not make an entry. Infrom our Moc/engineering. Lay up dimensions and send photos to them. Once approved place a silver dot and close the entry
