Give some strengths of Kant's theory |
.Kant's morality is very straightforward and based on reason .There are clear criteria to assess what is moral .The moral value of an action comes from the action itself .Kant's categorical imperative gives us rules that apply to everyone and command us to respect human life .it makes clear that morality is about doing ones duty and not just following feelings or inclinations. This means we cannot assume what is good who is morally good and so good for everyone else. This is Kant's equivalent of the golden rule of Christian ethics |
|
Weaknesses of Kant's theory |
.Kant is clear when explaining the conflict between duty and inclination breeders not helpers understand the conflict between different users each of which could be justified .Kants system only works if everyone has the same view of the end of human we do not all have the same views on life so it put s one at real disadvantage when dealing with people through wicked and more efficiently less rational .Kant's theory is abstract and not always easy apply to moral situations
