Legal and non-legal rules

Legal rules are are enforced by the courts eg. Traffic laws, where as non-legal rules are made by an organisation or school etc. monopoly rules are non-legal rule.

Relates to omissions against society.

Eg. Assault murder rape etc

|
Relates to disputes between two parties.
Main aim of civil law: Return the person who's rights have been infringed to their original position. |

When they have a 'grey area' the have to make a decision and then the next time this grey area occurs they'll follow the decision of the previous court.
This is called 'precedent' |
