Louisiana National Guard delievered 10 truckloads in total of water, ready made food and they also sent blankets to superdome where 26,000 people sought shelter. Enough to sustain 15,000 people for 3 days. inadequate andpart of roof blew off- vulnerable to elements, sanitation, no medical aid.


Coast Guard helicopters worked to save lives off 33,500 people stranded in flooding, US navy also aided with search and rescue- searching for surviors from air and on foot. Federal Govt gave US$62 billion in aid.






* reviewed emergency plans and response: for future events National Guard will be in charge, and a madatory evacuaation ordered. $13 billion of flood protection scheme was invested.
