Memories can be defined in two ways: implicit memories and explicit memories. Implicit memories are known as remembering things unconsciously such as walking or riding a bike, while explicit memories are explained when we consciously work to remember things such remembering formulas or a doctor’s appointment. We remember things by making a connection from a past mishap, event, or special occasion. We only try to remember happy events because unhappy events give of stress and make us sad. Memory leaves an impact on an individual’s life. Our memory makes us feel the same situation again, just like how it happened before. I never thought like this before, and I ask myself where our memories are stored, how we remember the things that happened ten years ago but not things that happened two days ago. We can improve our memory if we apply specific strategies directly in life. For example only focus on the important information, practice what was learned, and don’t get distracted. It was very interesting to learn how the brain is involved in the sensation of looking and saving our memories in the back the brain. When we see a hint about that memory the chemical hits the synapses of the brain and sends the signals to the transmitter. Then the old memory comes in a flashback. I found that the left prefrontal cortex is more activated and has the ability to recover from sad emotions. We learned that we can train ourselves to increase activation in this part of the brain and it would change our experience throughout our life. Primary learning about how the brain system works and all of the lobes of the brain has a different sensation and causes me to become more
