- Food scraps processed throug the galley disposal unit (greater than 25mm) cannot be discharged within 3nm
- Discharge permitted, while en route, as far as paractible from the nearest land, but in any case, greater than or equal to 12nm from the nearest land not within a special area.
- On coastal voyages, with short runs between ports, garbage should be retained on board for disposal to shore facilities in port. And stowed correctly in the vessels bins.
- Engineroom waste should be keept seperate to other garbage as it may require disposal at a different location. |
