1. Ghetto is territorial, residential, bounded and segregated 2. Ghetto is racial/ethnic. Meaning that it usually black and a product of a racist society. This poses race as a central criteria for determining life chances, opportunities, social status,and human worth. 3.Ghetto is socioeconomic meaning that it is marked by economic and social decay 4. Ghetto is institutional meaning that it has a complex of community institutions, organizations, and enterprises which are positive and negative. (positive because many of the structures are necessary for self determined maintenance and negative because they aren't strong enough) 5. Ghetto is clearly political both an expression and product of Black powerlessness to its establishment and existence. 6. Ghetto is psycho-cultural meaning that it is defined by views, values, and self-consciousness negative to its development and transformation into a free, proud, and productive community. |

How does Karenga describe the relationshipbetween race and class (254)? |
He believes that race and class interact with each other in social conflict and position. He also brings up the fact that in a racist society race will greatly determine class. Race/Racism is so deeply rooted that racism cannot be reduced to just a function of class or class struggle. He argued that race expresses itself in three ways including conquests and oppression, ideology, and institutional arrangement i.e. systems of political, economic and social structures that insure white power and privilege. |

African religions stress the ancestor veneration to so that there is a source of symbol and lineage, models of a ethical life, service and social achievement
