What is the name of the display screen on LDPs? |
FIRE (Functionally Integrated Railroad Electronics). |

What is different about the bogie/TM setup on an LDP? |
One inverter for each bogie. TMs can't be individually cut out. 2 Dyno systems (1 for each bogie). |

What does an LDP have instead of an Auxiliary Alternator? |
An Auxiliary Power Convertor, it serves much the same function. |

What is the difference between an LDP and a TT? |
Very few differences. They are basically a different name for the same loco. TTs are PN branded, LDPs were originally built to be leased out hence the generic paint jobs. |

What is different about starting an LDP? |
Auto start feature. Note - FIRE screen should be started prior to starting. |

What is different about shutting down an LDP? |
Shut down FIRE screen before pressing engine stop button. |

Yes, same engine as an AN with a few subtle differences. |

How many amps is the starting fuse on an LDP? |
400amps, looks the same as an 800amp, do not replace with wrong one. |

How do you isolate a traction motor on an LDP? |
DON'T switch Engine Control switch to Start. FIRE Screen - Traction Cutout, Disable 'Truck 1' or 'Truck 2' depending on which traction motor. This will roughly half the locos output in power (55%) and dyno. |

What Wheel Slip control system does an LDP have? |
Super Series. Monitored by Computers below 2.5kmph, when SS fails or when in Dyno. |

An LDP (Or other AC traction loco) has stronger dynamic brake at higher speeds? |
False. DC do, AC don't. Optimum performance at 41kmph, still very strong at low speeds. |
